Frequently Asked Questions

1What is introductory live-in care?
Introductory live-in care offers clients and their families the freedom to directly control their own care. We supply a fully vetted and capable live-in carer who is skilfully matched to clients requirements.
As a reputable agency, we have rigorous recruitment checks in place to ensure we meet the high standards that we are renowned and trusted for. All of our live-in carers are interviewed in person, must hold a current satisfactory enhanced DBS check, three professional references and supply training certificates which we validate. Although we are unable to supervise, direct or control care, we keep in regular contact with clients and their families to ensure their happiness and offer guidance whenever it is needed. All of our carers work on a self-employed basis and are responsible for paying their own tax.
2What areas do you cover?
Our live-in care service is available nationwide. The majority of our registered live-in carers are drivers and happy to travel to clients across the UK.
3What does it cost?
Our introductory service offers a cost effective home care option, both compared to residential care or an equivalent but managed care service. The provision of a carer starts from £650 for an individual and £700 for a couple, plus our introduction fee. No care package is the same and is tailored to individual needs. Please call our team on 01373 487063 who will be happy to provide a quote based upon your requirements.
4How quickly can a live-in carer be arranged?
We pride ourselves on our rapid responsive service which works to our clients and their families timeframes. If your enquiry is an emergency, our extensive database of capable live-in carers means we can introduce care in as little as 24 hours, subject to an assessment of individual requirements.
5Can I choose my carer?
Of course. We actively involve our clients and their families in the carer selection process to ensure they receive an individual that they are fully comfortable with. Before care is agreed, our team conduct an in depth telephone conversation to discuss the carer profile they have selected. A second telephone call is then recommended between client and carer. Only when both parties are happy does care commence.
6Will my carer help with housework?
Absolutely, our carers are there to help keep life stress free and ensure that their client’s home remains clean and tidy, and their garden maintained. Under clients’ direction, they will assist with light housework – vacuum, tidy, polish, change beds and ensure that laundry is clean and put away.
7Will they look after my pets?
Certainly, our carers know how important pets are in their clients lives and this forms a key part of our matching process. If you require help with walking your dog or feeding your cat, we will be certain to introduce a pet lover who will be delighted to help.
8What accommodation does my carer require?
Live-in carers require their own bedroom, clean bedlinen and space for their belongings. A spare television set is popular along with Wifi access.
9How long do carers stay for?
Live-in carers can stay from a few days to a number of weeks at a time, dependent on the individual situation. We understand the importance of continuity to our clients and where possible implement a small rota of carers to rotate on a regular basis, limiting the need for stressful handovers.
10What happens if I have a problem with my carer?
We keep in regular contact with clients and families to ensure they are happy with their live-in carer. We welcome honest feedback at all times and if you aren’t happy with your carer we ask that you let us know as soon as possible so our team can find a suitable replacement right away.
11How do I pay my carer?
As all of our carers are self-employed we ask that you arrange directly with them the terms and method of payment.
