Dementia Care at Home
At Convivium Care, we have provided live-in dementia care to our clients for over two decades. During this time, we have developed a strong understanding of the needs of the people affected by the disease.
From short term memory loss, vascular dementia, dementia with lewy bodys, to Alzheimer’s and more, our team are experienced in introducing competent live-in carers who recognise the different challenges and symptoms of the disease and who can help enhance the life of someone who is living with dementia.
Dementia care at home is often an overlooked option, yet for many it is preferable to the upheaval of having to move into residential care. The familiar environment of home provides continuity, consistency and a sense of security which are all important to an individual living with the highly disorientating condition.
Dementia can be a highly disorientating disease. Live-in care offers a consistent and secure environment in the comfort and familiarity of home.
Our carers can assist with all of the practical tasks around the home, light cleaning, laundry and housekeeping duties. They will prepare hearty meals and escort clients on their favourite outings. Most of all, they will be on hand to prompt, remind and reassure, to offer gentle companionship where required and provide peace of mind to family and loved ones.
The key benefits of dementia care at home:
- Remain in a relaxed and familiar environment surrounded by cherished belongings, adored pets with family and friends close by
- Follow pre-existing daily routines, providing continuity and consistency to help reduce feelings of anxiety and memory loss associated with dementia
- One-to-one care from skilled dementia carers
- Reassurance for family and loved ones
